O Corinthians completa nesta quinta-feira uma semana sem técnico. O período de busca por um substituto para Oswaldo de Oliveira tem sido marcado por silêncio da diretoria, críticas e sugestões nos bastidores e, principalmente, falta de convicção da cúpula alvinegra.

Como mostrado pelo LANCE!, o Timão tem dificuldade de encontrar um perfil ideal para seu novo comandante. Até por isso cogitou diversas opções pouco semelhantes entre si. Guto Ferreira, Vanderlei Luxemburgo, Jair Ventura, Paulo Autuori, Reinaldo Rueda e Marcelo Oliveira foram alguns dos que entraram na pauta. Não está descartado nem mesmo efetivar o auxiliar Fábio Carille. Uma reunião entre a cúpula alvinegra foi realizada no Parque São Jorge na última quarta-feira, mas a indefinição prosseguiu.

O problema é que todas as opções levantadas esbarram em empecilhos (financeiros, contratuais, de resistência interna, entre outros). As conversas são conduzidas pelo presidente do clube, Roberto de Andrade, o diretor de futebol Flávio Adauto e o gerente Alessandro Nunes. Contudo, conselheiros e pessoas influentes no clube tentam dar seus “pitacos”, o que aumenta o leque de opções e também as restrições aos candidatos.

Em meio a isso, nenhum dirigente corintiano tem falado com a imprensa. Na última sexta-feira, Adauto concedeu entrevistas a diversos veículos de comunicação, mas depois se calou. Os cartolas não têm atendido aos telefones dos jornalistas.

A expectativa corintiana era anunciar o novo técnico até esta quinta-feira, quando Roberto de Andrade viajará aos Estados Unidos. Ele passará as festas de fim de ano no País e só retornará ao Brasil na primeira semana de janeiro.

O elenco corintiano se reapresenta no próximo dia 11 e estreia na Florida Cup, em Orlando, uma semana depois.

Interest is hotting up in reported Queens Park Rangers transfer target Alex Pritchard this summer.

What’s the talk?

That’s according to a report by Last Word on Sports, who claimed that both Derby County and Birmingham City have now joined the race for the 28-year-old, who was released from Huddersfield Town earlier this week.

QPR and Bristol City are also credited with an interest in the £2.52m-rated attacking midfielder, who joined the Terriers from Norwich City in an £11.12m deal back in January 2018.

Bhatia must avoid move

Having impressed during his time at Norwich, with the midfielder scoring eight goals and providing 12 assists over his 43 appearances for the Canaries, it would be fair to say that Pritchard has not quite lived up to his price tag since making the move to the John Smith’s Stadium.

Over his 83 fixtures in all competitions for Huddersfield, the former England under-21 international has managed to score just three goals and register three assists for the club – having last found the back of the net when they were still a Premier League side two seasons ago.

Indeed, over his 18 appearances in the 2020/21 Championship – only six of which came as starts – the 28-year-old blanked in terms of both goals and assists, as well as creating just one big chance and averaging a mere 0.1 shots on target per game, culminating in a disappointing average SofaScore match rating of 6.60 – ranking him as Carlos Corberan’s joint 11th-worst performer in the second tier.

As such, despite Pritchard’s early promise – previously being dubbed a “talented” player by one-time Spurs team-mate Christian Eriksen – QPR chief Amit Bhatia must simply avoid making a move for the midfielder this summer at all costs.

However, this is not only down to the former Tottenham man’s disappointing metrics in recent seasons, but also because his potential arrival could stunt the development of one of QPR’s brightest talents in Ilias Chair, with Pritchard and the 23-year-old sharing the same position on the pitch.

With QPR looking very much on the up after an impressive second half of the season, a move for Pritchard this summer would appear to be something of a backwards step for Mark Warburton’s men.

كشفت صحيفة “ديلي تيليجراف” البريطانية عن تغييرات في نظام بطولة دوري السوبر الأوروبي، والتي لم تر النور بسبب اعتراضات الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم والاتحاد الأوروبي عليها، بسبب اهتمامها بالأندية الكبيرة.

وكان هناك 12 ناديًا يرغبون في إقامة بطولة تسمى دوري السوبر الأوروبي، ويعتبرون من المؤسسين قبل انسحاب 9 أندية، ولم يتبق في الوقت الحالي سوى برشلونة، ريال مدريد، ويوفنتوس.

ولكن بحسب التقرير الجديد، الأندية الثلاثة يرغبون في تطبيق نظام الصعود والهبوط وعدم التشبث بفكرة الأندية المغلقة على أنفسها، حتى يكون المعيار في المشاركة هو للجدارة الرياضية.

ويرغب المؤسسون الثلاثة في إيجاد حلقة وصل بين دوري السوبر الأوروبي والدوريات المحلية، وهو أمر طلبته الفرق والجماهير في وقت الإعلان عن المشروع في إبريل 2021.

وينوي رئيس نادي يوفنتوس، أندريا أنييلي، الإعلان عن النظام الجديد في مؤتمر رياضي اقتصادي تنظمه مجلة “فاينانشيال تايمز” في العاصمة البريطانية “لندن”، وفي نفس المؤتمر سيتحدث رئيس الاتحاد الأوروبي لكرة القدم، ألكسندر تشيفرين.

ولكن كل تلك التحركات ستنتظر قرار محكمة لوكسمبورج في شهر مايو المقبل، بشأن الاختصاص الحصري للاتحاد الأوروبي لكرة القدم بتأسيس وتكوين المسابقات القارية.

الجدير بالذكر أن “يويفا” كان قد سحب جميع القضايا ضد الأندية الثلاثة المعنية، في لفتة فسرت على أنها انتصار للفرق، ومد تشيفرين يديه في حوار صحفي منذ فترة للأندية لعقد اجتماع محتمل لإنهاء هذا الصراع.

Speaking exclusively to Football FanCast, former Tottenham defender Graham Roberts has urged his old side to sign Inter Milan centre-back Milan Skriniar this summer.

According to Football Insider, Tottenham are keen on bringing the 26-year-old to north London before the start of next season after coming close to acquiring his services back in January, and Roberts is adamant that this is a deal that they must get over the line.

Central defence has been a concern for Jose Mourinho this term, with Davinson Sanchez a defensive player who has not exactly covered himself in glory of late. Following Spurs’ recent 2-2 draw with Newcastle United, the Colombia international came in for some fierce criticism, including from former Leeds striker Noel Whelan.

They followed up by letting in three against Manchester United on Sunday, and it all leaves Mourinho in a situation where he may need to sign a new centre-half in the summer, and Roberts is hoping that centre-half turns out to be £49.5m-rated Skriniar.

On the Slovakian, the Tottenham legend told FFC:

“They’re talking about the lad Skriniar at Inter Milan, £40m, £50m, £60m. Well, if you’re going to sell one of your better players, then you’ve got to go and use that money to go and get him. I’d rather pay [for] one player a year, but a real quality player.”

With Toby Alderweireld also not getting any younger, Tottenham could perhaps do with freshening up their defence.

Manchester United’s attacking injury woes are set to continue this weekend, with as many as three attacking stars set to be ruled out for their FA Cup quarter-final meeting with Leicester City.

Ahead of the match, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed that Marcus Rashford is set to miss the game having been withdrawn at half-time against AC Milan on Thursday, whilst Anthony Martial and Edinson Cavani are doubts having been suffering with their own respective injury problems.

Should none of the trio be fit enough for the trip to the east Midlands, it leaves the Red Devils extremely thin on the ground when it comes to attacking options.

It would likely lead Solskjaer to deploying the likes of Mason Greenwood, Daniel James and Amad Diallo in an attacking trio in what would be a huge downgrade for the Red Devils.

Of course, the three are talented young players but they have not managed to get anywhere near the output of Rashford, Cavani or Martial throughout the 2020/21 campaign. Between them this season, the three have managed to score 32 goals, whilst notching 17 assists in all competitions, a huge contribution.

Meanwhile, James, Greenwood and Diallo can only boast ten goals and five assists combined. As a matter of fact, the injured trio’s impact this season is even more telling that, without their goals, United would be 16 points worse off in the Premier League table. This would leave the Red Devils on 41 points and firmly marooned in mid-table.

It goes without saying that United’s attacking threat will be hugely reduced at the King Power Stadium and that is certainly not what the Red Devils need as they travel to a Leicester side who have only conceded one goal in the FA Cup so far this season.

Reports by Tutto Juve over the weekend claimed that Juventus are willing to offer Everton the chance to sign Douglas Costa in a swap deal for Moise Kean, which could see Carlo Ancelotti solve his “impossible” Richarlison task.

Kean is thought to be lined up for a sensational return to the Allianz Stadium just two years after leaving the Serie A side for Goodison Park, amid doubts about Cristiano Ronaldo’s long-term future in Turin.

The Portuguese icon and Juventus are both yet to decide on whether they will continue together into the 2021/22 season, or if they’ll call time on their expensive partnership at the end of the current campaign.

Ronaldo staying would likely force Juventus into selling Paulo Dybala to avoid losing the Argentine for free in 2022, and if that’s the case, they could look to sign Kean as the Italian giants know that a deal for Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland would be too expensive for them.

Everton would be expected to value Kean at €40m (£34.5m) after his turn of form during a season on loan with Paris Saint-Germain, for whom he has scored 15 goals in 29 games, including against FC Barcelona in the Champions League.

Kean had struggled to live up to his initial £25m price tag upon joining Everton under Marco Silva, with the 21-year-old only scoring twice in 29 Premier League games during his maiden term.

Juventus would be unable to match a price tag in the region suggested by reports in Italy, so allegedly intend to present either Aaron Ramsey or Costa in a player-plus-cash deal with each valued at €15m (£13m).

But it remains to be seen if Kean would be willing to accept a third-string role behind Ronaldo and Alvaro Morata back at Juventus, whom he left in 2019 after scoring eight times in 21 first-team appearances having only started six of those games.

Ancelotti deciding to cash in on Kean’s form with PSG and accept Juventus’ offer could see the Italian solve a problem of his at Everton, though, as the arrival of Costa would provide depth at left-wing that he has previously suggested is not currently on offer.

Speaking in November after losing Richarlison to a three-match ban for the red card issued at home to Liverpool, Ancelotti admitted that he struggles to find a like-for-like replacement for the Brazilian and has to alter his game plan when he’s unavailable.

“It is impossible to replace Richarlison. There is no player in the world like Richarlison. So we have to replace him with another player with different quality,” Ancelotti said, via quotes by the Liverpool Echo. “We have to change a little bit our style of play without Richarlison.”

Costa’s potential arrival at Goodison Park could solve that long-running issue, one which has seen Ancelotti field Lucas Digne in midfield six times this season with Bernard out of favour, only starting five of his 15 appearances to date.

The Juventus forward, currently on loan with Bayern Munich, has endured a challenging campaign in Germany with Hansi Flick often opposed to fielding him and is currently sidelined after sustaining a hairline fracture in his foot.

Yet the 31-cap Brazil international has earned a wealth of admirers over the years, including Tottenham Hotspur, as Costa has “unquestionable ability” in the opinion of Liverpool icon Steve Nicol.

Ancelotti would surely like to have a player of that skill at his disposal for when Richarlison is unavailable or needed elsewhere in the side next season.

هناك اهتمام من بشكتاش وفناربخشة بضم دي يونج واستكمال فترة إعارته في برشلونة في نادٍ آخر حتى 30 يونيو 2022.

الجدير بالذكر أن برشلونة كان قد أعلن عن أولى صفقاته الشتوية بضم جناح مانشستر سيتي وإسبانيا، فيران توريس، بمقابل مادي قيمته 55 مليون يورو.

According to L’Equipe, Arsenal are one of the clubs interested in signing Marseille left-back Jordan Amavi.

What’s the story?

With Sead Kolasinac’s long-term future at Mikel Arteta’s side up in the air given that he joined Schalke on loan in the January transfer window, the Gunners are without a natural left-back as cover for Kieran Tierney.

The Premier League side have chopped and changed between Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Cedric as the Scotland international’s back-up, so it’s no surprise that French publication L’Equipe claim that Arsenal have joined the likes of Napoli and Crystal Palace in the race to sign Amavi.

The Frenchman is out of contract at Marseille come the end of the season and would thus be able to join on a free transfer, with the report adding that the Ligue 1 side’s negotiations with Amavi over a new contract have stalled.

Arsene Wenger wanted him

Being French and a rising talent in Ligue 1, it’s no surprise that former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger was reported to be interested in Amavi back in the summer of 2015 (Mercato365 via The Hard Tackle).

The Gunners eventually lost out to fellow Premier League side Aston Villa for his signing, where the left-back played for just a couple of seasons before moving on to current side Marseille.

Since then, Amavi has been a consistent performer week-in and week-out for the Ligue 1 giants, averaging a Whoscored match rating of over 7 in three out of the four seasons – in fact, this campaign has seen him average an impressive 7.17 match rating, which ranks him first in the entire Marseille squad.

Speaking back in 2017, the Frenchman himself said about his permanent move to Marseille: “I will bring my aggression and some speed. I like to battle, and my attacking play. I will do my best in the offence, but first of all in the defence. I want to win as many duels as possible and get the ball as much as possible.”

Given that he will be available on a free transfer, Amavi would represent a bargain signing for the Gunners as they look for a back-up to established first-choice Tierney.

Amidst the financial situation facing most clubs around the world, the Kroenke family will be very pleased if Arsenal can address a key issue in their squad without actually having to splash the cash.
