Leeds United fans on Twitter are hoping that Mateusz Bogusz gets first-team opportunities next season after Marcelo Bielsa signed a one-year contract extension.

The Argentine has a reputation for giving young players an opportunity, and during his first season at Elland Road Jack Clarke and Jamie Shackleton both became regulars.

Supporters are now hopeful that Bogusz is the next player in line for a debut after his impressive campaign with the U23s.

The Polish midfielder could easily slot in alongside his fellow countryman Mateusz Klich as a number 10.

The attacking midfield position has caused Leeds headaches this season. Tyler Roberts has played there sporadically, but they haven’t seemed to settle on a replacement for Samu Saiz.

The 17-year-old could be that man next season, and if he is put into the first team it would certainly be a popular decision amongst the fanbase.

وواصل: “بدر بانون كان يمتلك عروضًا قبل توقيعه للأهلي وحتى الآن، وهي عروض مغرية لكنه لم يتردد دقيقة في اللعب للنادي الأهلي”.

وأردف: “تواصلنا مع كريم بلق وكيل أشرف بن شرقي وهو من وصلنا بالأهلي ورفضنا العروض الأخرى”.

وكشف: “سبب عدم وجود اللاعب المصري في المغرب، أعتقد بسبب أنه لا يلقى نفس الماديات التي تجعله يغادر مصر إلى المغرب”.

وتطرق للحديث عن حميد أحداد، قائلًا: “كان هناك 5 عروض للاعب من المغرب والسعودية والقطر، أهم هذه العروض نادي شباب المحمدية المغربي وفريق أم صلال القطري، وكل الفرق هذه كانت ترغب في ضم اللاعب، ونحن لا نتحدث من فراغ كما يدعي البعض ولكن نحن لدينا عروض مكتوبة من أندية ترغب في اللاعب”.

وتابع: “عرض أم صلال القطري معي ولكن الصفقة لم تتم بسبب علاقة رئيس الزمالك السابق مرتضى منصور بدولة قطر، العرض كان 400 ألف دولار مقابل الإعارة و700 ألف في حالة الشراء، ولم يتم الاتفاق، وحتى أخر اللحظة لم نكن نعلم مصير اللاعب مع الزمالك لأنه كان هناك مماطلة من إدارة النادي”.

واستكمل: “شباب المحمدية كان عرضه متساويًا مع عرض أم صلال، ونادي الزمالك كان يماطل”.

استطرد: “تخيل أن الزمالك لم يرسل التأشيرة وتذكرة طيران اللاعب ومن تدخل كان رئيس نادي شباب المحمدية وهو من توسط في حصول اللاعب على التأشيرة ودفع ثمن التذكرة، هذا حدث في المرة السابقة، وجئنا مصر وظللنا أسبوعا كامل ننتظر الجلوس مع المدير الفني وتجاهلتنا إدارة النادي ولم نجلس مع المدرب”.

وأتم متحدثًا عن المغربي لاعب الزمالك السابق خالد بوطيب: “الأمر خرج عن اختصاصي وأصبح بين محامي اللاعب والزمالك والقضية في الاتحاد الدولي، حاولنا حل الأمر وديا ولكن لم يحدث ولذلك اضطر اللاعب للجوء إلى فيفا، وربما في شهر فبراير سيكون هناك جلسة”.

واختتم: “بوطيب انضم لنادي في القسم الثاني الفرنسي، ولم يحصل على كافة مستحقاته من الزمالك ويتبقى له تقريبًا راتب سنة ونصف، الزمالك هو من فسخ عقده”.

Tottenham Hotspur fans will have been keeping a close eye on Jack Grealish on Saturday afternoon as Aston Villa kicked-off their play-off campaign at Villa Park.

What’s the word?

Spurs have been repeatedly linked with the 23-year-old playmaker since last summer.

His decision to sign a new deal in September 2018 temporarily eased speculation, but the Daily Mail claimed on Friday that Grealish will leave the club if Villa fail in their bid to reach the top-flight.

Tottenham were identified as one of the clubs expressing an interest in his services, while Crystal Palace were also mentioned as they scout the market for a potential Wilfried Zaha replacement.

Perfect for Pochettino

Saturday represented a perfect opportunity to take a closer look at Grealish’s credentials to make the switch to north London.

This was not Villa’s poster boy at his scintillating best but he still managed to provide two moments of quality as the hosts suddenly turned the game on its head. Firstly, he provided a perfectly weighted ball for Conor Hourihane to smash home an equaliser from the edge of the area, and just moments later he lured Kieran Gibbs into a dangerous lunge inside the penalty area and won his side a penalty to complete the turnaround.

But it was his movement throughout the game which pointed towards his suitability to Tottenham’s free-flowing system.

The attacking midfield contingent at Spurs, regardless of the personnel, are allowed to interchange and roam as they see fit, leaving defenders with the unenviable task of trying to mark specific individuals.

Take Lucas Moura, for example, a player who was renowned for his expertise on the right-wing when he arrived at the club who now regularly operates at centre-forward, number ten or in a vague attacking midfield position which allows for seamless fluidity and flair.

Against the Baggies Grealish was allowed the freedom to roam across the pitch as he dropped deep, oscillated from left to right and pushed closer to Tammy Abraham in the second half.

This was a quintessentially free-roaming performance from a man who has been unleashed by Dean Smith, and his license to play wide, central, deep and advanced has prepared him for the style he would be expected to adhere to at Tottenham.

Like Dele Alli, Christian Eriksen, Lucas, Erik Lamela and Son Heung-min, Grealish would be willing and versatile enough to thrive under the Argentine.

After witnessing their side suffer eight consecutive defeats in the Premier League, Huddersfield Town fans must have been fearing the worst on Sunday when Scott McTominay gave Manchester United the lead after just 8 minutes.

However, with the fixture being the club’s last home game before they make their return to the Championship in August, it was clear that the Terriers wanted to go out on a high against the Red Devils.

After Paul Pogba and Juan Mata both went close to adding a second for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side, the hosts equalised through Isaac Mbenza who left David De Gea with no chance after latching on to a tremendous long pass from goalkeeper Jonas Lossl.

With United unable to reclaim the lead, the Terriers secured what was arguably their best result of the season in which one player in particular showed just why the club should be doing everything they can to keep him in the summer.

Although he may not have scored on Sunday, Karlan Grant provided a constant threat to his opposing defenders as both Chris Smalling and Phil Jones struggled to deal with his pace and power.

Since joining Huddersfield in January from Charlton Athletic, the 21-year-old has been mightily impressive for his new side as he has been directly involved in five goals in 13 games.

Capable of playing as both a central striker and as a winger, it would not be at all surprising if Grant becomes the subject of considerable interest from elsewhere as he has all the ingredients needed to succeed at the highest level.

If this does indeed happen, Huddersfield boss Jan Siewert must do all he can to convince the £2.25m-rated ace (via Transfermarkt) to stay in West Yorkshire for the foreseeable future as losing him could lead to disaster.

Whereas the Terriers will be confident of launching a sustained push for promotion with Grant leading the line next season, if they let him leave when the transfer window opens in July, they could end up facing yet another campaign of struggle.

As far as Arsenal fans are concerned, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is one of the best strikers in the Premier League and one of the best still competing in the Europa League. In the next round of Europe, the Gabonese frontman will be up against Arkadiusz Milik and Calcio Mercato have claimed that the Polish frontman is better than Auba.

The Arsenal striker will be absolutely loving life at the moment. The Gunners have enjoyed watching the electric ex-Borussia Dortmund man score goals aplenty at The Emirates in his first full season, as he has a return of 22 goals and seven assists in his 40 outings this season. That’s a much healthier return than that of the man he’s up against, as Milik has 19 in 36 games and fewer assists that Auba too.

In Truth, Milik’s return looks good, but factor in that his goals have come whilst he’s been playing as the main frontman for Napoli in an easier league in the Serie A and all of a sudden Auba’s achievement looks much better. The 29-year-old has been competing with Alexandre Lacazette for the starting role at Arsenal and is often shoehorned out wide. There’s not even a guarantee that he’ll be starting when they face Napoli, and even from the bench, he’s much better than Milik.

The Gunners absolutely love their Gabonese frontman and are desperate for him to prove that he’s head and shoulders above Milik when they face Napoli over two legs.

Ayoze Perez has always divided opinion among Newcastle fans, and his two-goal display against Everton, in many ways, epitomised his Toon career, with a lack-lustre first half performance being eclipsed by a match-winning second half.

The Spaniard — who has been tipped by Luis Garcia to break into the national side — struggled to make any impact in the opening 45 minutes on Saturday, spurning a couple of great opportunities, before blowing the Toffees away in a frantic final quarter of the game.

For us, here at the Tavern, it’s exactly these hot and cold displays that polarise fans, and why he continues to frustrate the Geordie faithful. But for one afternoon at least, fans were unanimous in their praise for him after the game.

A poll, run on Twitter by fans’ site @ToonPolls, asked fans whether they would keep Perez in the summer or sell him, with only five per cent voting to sell him. Certainly, the introduction of Miguel Almiron has helped, and along with the superb hold-up work of Rondon, the three amigos seem to be spurring each other on.

Some of the comments below typify fans’ feelings following the game.

But it has not always been so rosy for him, as the results of a previous poll showed that more than half the fans voting would have sold him. Although, one fan seemed to sum things up eerily accurately.

Wolverhampton Wanderers’ dreamlike campaign in the Premier League is majorly due to the contribution of their newest additions.

While Rui Patricio and co are helping them maintain impressive defensive stability, it’s Raul Jimenez’s excellent work up front to have won them many crucial points.

The Portuguese forward’s lit up the Molineux multiple times this season, with his clinical work up front helping Nuno Espirito Santos’ side overpower Premier League oppositions. Jimenez is currently Wolves top-scorer this season with 11 Premier League goals, while he’s also been a creative outlet for them with six assists as well!

He’s been a clinical outlet for Wolves, showing impressive strikers’ instincts in often wandering into promising positions and always being a viable option for midfielders to pass forward to. Jimenez’s fantastic link-up play’s allowed him to provide so many assists, while he’s also created 9 big chances for his side (stats via Premier League).

The towering striker’s used his physical prowess to easily adapt to English football’s conditions and proved himself as a fantastic loan deal for the cunning Wolves. While he’s thrived off having clever midfielders like Ruben Neves & Joao Moutinho to deliver balls for him, Jimenez’s predatorial instincts and hunger for goals make him a dangerous outlet for any opposition.

While Benfica might resist when it comes to permanently releasing him, Wolves should put their best offer possible to quickly snap him up.

Jimenez will be key for them to keep up their rise and aim an ambitious top six finish in the Premier League next season.

What a disaster Alexis Sanchez’s move to Manchester United has been. Indeed, the Daily Star are reporting he’s told his agent he’d take a wage cut to leave Old Trafford after a truly horrific spell at the club for both the player and the fans reading this. If that’s true, he’d be right to request a move and start anew elsewhere.

He’d certainly have to take a wage cut to move away, but most would think Sanchez cares more about regaining the form he showed at Arsenal and being named in the same breath as some of the best attackers in the world once against. It’s just not happened for him at United and sometimes it’s okay to cut your losses and make a change.

He seemed disillusioned under Jose Mourinho. He didn’t receive enough service, and when he did there was a lack of players around him so he’d lose the ball by trying too much. Now, under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer the system suits him more, but it seems he’s behind Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial in the pecking order.

Still, despite all that’s happened since his move, a player of his quality shouldn’t be sat on the bench.

Solskjaer is perhaps right to have Martial and Rashford playing ahead of him at the minute though. That’s due to their great form but also the Chilean being resigned to the fact he’ll never live up to the expectation placed on him when he arrived. Most United fans have made their mind up on him and mentality that must be hard for the 30-year-old to work back from.

There’d surely be plenty of suitors across Europe who would love to acquire his skills, just as Pep Guardiola and Manchester City did before he chose United, so he’s not a lost cause. He just needs to be the main man at a club again and have players providing him with the service and movement that he works best with.

He still has another two or three years at the very top of his game, so why would he stay at United when, at the moment, they’re not winning trophies or giving him enough minutes?

It’s time for one of the most exciting players in Europe to find his spark again, and he can only do that by forgetting Old Trafford.
