Pinotti fez parte da gestão do ex-dirigente Carlos Miguel Aidar no clube. Deixou o cargo em 2017, mas chegou a seguir como conselheiro do São Paulo. Casares afirmou que Pinotti fará parte da ‘reconstrução do clube’ e destacou que conhece bem o ex-diretor, mesmo que já tenham estado em ‘trincheiras opostas’. Inclusive, relembrou o fato dele ter sido o mais votado da oposição na última eleição que aconteceu no clube. O atual presidente destacou que o ‘ideal dos dois é o mesmo’.

Pinotti foi muito relembrado por conta do empréstimo milionário que fez ao São Paulo em 2015, que beirou os R$ 15 milhões. Este empréstimo foi realizado, na época, para bancar a vinda de Centurión, que atuava no Racing.O clube já pagou uma parte da dívida, mas ainda deve cerca de R$ 3,9 milhões – segundo o último balanço financeiro divulgado.
Vale relembrar que, muito por ter sido o membro da oposição mais votado, a aproximação do clube desta forma justamente enfraquece esta oposição. É importante destacar que Pinotti não foi, de fato, contratado. Atuará como consultor especial apenas.
Leeds United made the perfect start to life back in the Premier League on Monday night with a 1-0 win over Everton under the lights at Elland Road.
Lukas Nmecha, who signed on a free transfer from Wolfsburg this summer, came off the bench to score the winning goal from the penalty spot on his debut for the Whites.
Daniel Farke went with Joel Piroe, who scored 19 goals in the Championship last season, as the main number nine from the start against the Toffees, but the Dutchman did not enjoy much success.
The former Swansea player showed some nice touches at times when he dropped deep to get involved, but his lack of mobility and physicality were issues against James Tarkowski and Michael Keane.
Piroe lost all three of his ground duels and lost four of his five aerial battles in the match, per Sofascore, which speaks to his lack of quality in physical tussles.
It will now be interesting to see what happens with the number nine position in the weeks to come, especially after Nmecha made a fast start to life in West Yorkshire.
What Lukas Nmecha's role could be this season for Leeds
The former Germany international was an interesting signing when he arrived from Wolfsburg earlier this summer, because he has struggled for form and fitness in recent seasons.
Nmecha has not scored more than four goals in a single season since the 2021/22 campaign, per Sofascore, and only managed three goals in 20 appearances last season for Wolfsburg.
Injury issues played a significant role in that, as the 26-year-old striker has missed 64 games due to injury over the last three years, according to Transfermarkt, which impacted his ability to deliver consistently on the pitch.
The former Manchester City academy graduate’s performances in the Bundesliga when he was fit and available in the 2024/25 campaign also left plenty to be desired.
Nmecha struggled in front of goal, as a finisher and a creator, and did not produce performances that made a move to the Premier League seem very likely for this summer.

As you can see in the table above, the German forward underperformed against his xG, missed five ‘big chances’, and did not create any ‘big chances’ for his teammates in his 19 appearances in the division.
Despite his underwhelming goalscoring form and persistent injury issues, Farke opted to take a gamble on him this summer, and it is one that is already starting to pay off after his debut goal.
However, Nmecha’s time with Wolfsburg in recent seasons suggests that the role he played against Everton is most likely to be his main one at Elland Road – coming off the bench to make an impact when needed.

The Championship champions are reportedly interested in adding another striker to their squad, despite having Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Nmecha, and Piroe.

According to El Chiringuito TV, Leeds United are one of the sides that are competing to sign Villarreal centre-forward Karl Etta Eyong before the end of the summer transfer window.
Supporters may recognise his name because the 21-year-old marksman scored against the Whites in a 1-1 draw at Elland Road earlier this month, nodding in from a couple of yards out in the 62nd minute.
This latest report claims that Leeds, Rangers, and Levante are all in the race to sign the Cameroonian forward, who currently wants to stay at Villarreal.
It adds that the Spanish side have already rejected a loan offer from Championship outfit Swansea, but it is unclear as to whether Farke’s team are keen on a loan or permanent deal for the striker.
Why Leeds should sign Etta Eyong
Leeds should push to convince Etta Eyong to want to move on from Villarreal this summer because he could arrive at Elland Road as a very interesting addition to the squad.
As aforementioned, Piroe may not have the physicality, as backed up by his performance against Everton, to be very effective in the Premier League, and there are still a lot of question marks over Nmecha.
Etta Eyong could come in as a striker who is an even better option than Nmecha to start games in the top-flight for Leeds, to provide serious competition for Calvert-Lewin as the main number nine for Farke.
The 21-year-old attacker, who was described as a “powerful” star by analyst Kai Watson, does not have heaps of senior experience under his belt, but he has shown plenty of promise in his short career to date.
Etta Eyong earned his place in the first-team at Villarreal towards the end of last season and scored three goals in seven games in pre-season, including goals against Arsenal and Leeds, per Sofascore.

As you can see in the table above, the 21-year-old talent has shown plenty of promise in the very limited minutes he has been given in LaLiga, scoring two goals from 0.74 xG in just 136 minutes of football.
Prior to his emergence in the first-team with Villarreal, Etta Eyong also scored 18 goals in 30 matches for the B team in the third tier of Spanish football, which shows that he can find the back of the net on a regular basis.
Unlike Calvert-Lewin and Nmecha, the promising talent also has a clean injury record, with no notable injuries in his career, per Transfermarkt, which suggests that he is more likely to be available week-in-week-out.
This could make him a more valuable centre-forward option than Nmecha for Farke, purely because of his potential to be available for more matches in the Premier League.

Even though Sunday put a slight dampener on things, the outlook for Arsenal this season is a positive one.
As long as the Gunners can keep their star players from missing as many games as they did last season, they should remain in the Premier League title race until the very end.
Moreover, even if the club do suffer with more injuries, they’ve done an incredible job bolstering the squad with brilliant alternatives over the summer.
Yet, there are still some issues, including one player Mikel Arteta has to give up on, a player who is earning more than marquee signing Eberechi Eze.
What Eze brings to Arsenal
The signing of Eze in and of itself lifted the mood of the Arsenal fanbase last month, as, on top of getting one over Tottenham Hotspur, the club were addressing a few problem areas in one deal.
For example, in addition to scoring goals last season, a significant problem for the Gunners was simply creating chances.
According to data from Stats Muse, despite finishing as runners-up, Arteta’s outfit were only the fifth best team at creating goalscoring chances, chalking up just 427 compared to Liverpool’s 502.

In other words, it was crystal clear to all who watched that the Gunners were in desperate need of some ingenuity in the team, and while one player alone won’t see them create the most chances in the league, Eze will undoubtedly help.
For example, according to Stats Muse, the Englishman created 59 chances on his own in the league last year, which is all the more impressive given that he did so for a mid-table side.
The second significant benefit of signing the 27-year-old is his ability to play in multiple positions.
One week, he might be tasked with starting in the middle of the park, either to cover for or replace, should his form not improve, Martin Odegaard, and then the next week, be the starting left-winger.
At the moment, it feels more likely that the £175k-per-week “magician,” as dubbed by Micah Richards, will start in the latter position.
After all, that is where the player who needs to be dropped and moved on is currently playing.
The Arsenal dud earning way more than Eze
If you were to ask fans what the most significant problem area in this Arsenal team is, most would probably say the left wing.

Moreover, what is particularly frustrating about the winger is that, time after time, he will find himself with the ball at his feet and with one defender ahead of him and, instead of beating his man or dinking the ball over their head, he’ll pass it backwards or run into them.
This was on full display on Sunday when the Guarulhos-born ace failed to have any positive attacking impact on the game whatsoever, so much so that podcaster Phil Costa labelled him “clunky and indecisive,” which is about the worst way to describe a winger.
This wouldn’t be such a problem if the former Ituano gem were a fringe squad player on a low wage who could be easily moved on, but instead, he’s a core part of the squad and making an astronomical £180k-per-week.

That comes out to a whopping £9.36m-per-year, and when you compare his output to Eze’s over the last couple of seasons, it’s impossible to ignore how poor a use of funds this is.
Now, there is, of course, a chance Martinelli could one day rediscover the form that led to him earning his current contract.

Therefore, Arteta should be dropping him from the team for the next game, and Arsenal should do what they can to move him on as soon as possible.

Até por conta do momento difícil na vida pessoal e consequentemente, o abalo psicológico, a chance de Pablo Maia enfrentar o Palmeiras é difícil. Titular absoluto da equipe, ele deve ser substituído por Méndez para formar dupla com Gabriel Neves no meio-campo do São Paulo.
Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has been questioned about Kobbie Mainoo’s lack of game time in the Premier League so far this season.
The England international only played 45 minutes of football across the first three matches, and was an unused substitute in the first two games, playing the second half against Burnley.
Amorim has explained, in the quotes above, that the central midfielder is competing with the captain, Bruno Fernandes, for a starting berth in the team, which seems like a bit of a waste of talent when you consider that he is one of the most valuable players in the squad.

Mainoo is currently valued at £43m by Transfermarkt, having come through the academy system at Carrington, but finds himself out of the picture at Old Trafford, when it comes to making the starting line-up.
It feels like a waste to have such a valuable and promising young talent rotting away on the bench, particularly when the system – a 3-4-2-1 formation – keeping him out of the side has yielded eight wins in 30 Premier League games under Amorim.

As you can see in the table above, only four other players in the squad are more valuable than Mainoo. Three of them, Yoro, Mbeumo, and Cunha, are locked in starters, and Sesko may be a starter once he is up to speed.
Whilst it is a shame that the England international cannot get into the starting XI at the moment, United also had a nightmare with another academy graduate midfielder who is now valued as much as Mainoo, Scott McTominay.

The Scotland international came through the youth ranks at Carrington, just like Mainoo, and racked up 29 goals in 255 matches for the first-team in all competitions, per Transfermarkt.
He had shown some very promising signs throughout his time in the senior side. Gary Neville claimed that he “turned into Paul Scholes and Roy Keane” after scoring twice in a Premier League game against Leeds, for example.
Last summer, however, Erik ten Hag decided to part ways with McTominay and sanctioned a £25m transfer to Italian giants Napoli. It is fair to say that the decision has turned out to be a poorly-judged one.
Manchester United replaced him by agreeing a deal worth up to £50.5m to sign Manuel Ugarte from Sporting, and the two players have had hugely contrasting fortunes since those two transfers.
As you can see in the graphic above, McTominay has delivered 20 goals and assists combined for Napoli, helping them to win the Serie A title last season.
The 28-year-old star won the Serie A Player of the Year award and his Transfermarkt value has shot up to £43m as a result of his exceptional performances, taking him on par with Mainoo and significantly higher than the £25m fee that Napoli paid for him.
Meanwhile, Ugarte delivered one goal and two assists in 29 appearances in the Premier League last season, per Sofascore, and has not started a single game in the current campaign.
At the time of writing, the Uruguay international’s Transfermarkt value is £39m, which is less than McTominay’s and far less than the £50.5m deal that was agreed for him last summer.
This shows that United had a howler last summer because they essentially swapped McTominay for Ugarte in the middle of the park, and are worse off for it at this moment in time given how the two players have performed and how their values have changed.

ويسعى برشلونة إلى تحقيق الفوز على أولمبياكوس، حيث بدأ البلوجرانا في استعادة التوازن عقب الفوز على جيرونا بهدفين مقابل هدف واحد يوم السبت الماضي بالدوري الإسباني.
وتطرق فليك خلال المؤتمر الصحفي الخاص باللقاء إلى حالة كل من رافينها دياز، وفيران توريس، حيث يغيب الثنائي عن مباراة الغد بسبب الإصابة.
وتفاقمت إصابة رافينها، مما سيجعله يغيب عن لقاء الغد وقد يغيب كذلك عن مباراة الكلاسيكو الأسبوع المقبل ضد ريال مدريد، في حين عاد توريس مصابًا من فترة التوقف الدولي الأخير ويعاني من إجهاد عضلي.
وقال فليك: ”نأمل أن يتمكن توريس من اللعب في الكلاسيكو وكذلك رافينها وهذا ما نأمله، في النهاية عندما عاد توريس من المنتخب الوطني، رأينا أن الوضع كان صعبًا بعض الشيء، ليس كثيرًا لكن علينا تقليل المخاطر، ولعبه غدًا سيكون مخاطرة”.
وأضاف فليك: ”سنجري المزيد من الفحوصات يوم الخميس ونرى كيف ستتطور حالته، الأمر يتعلق برعاية اللاعبين وهو شئ صعب، لكن لاحقًا سيعود الجميع وسيكون لدينا وضع جديد”.
واعترف فليك، أن برشلونة يعاني من وضع صعب خلال الفترة الأخيرة حيث أوضح: “في الوقت الحالي نحن في وضع صعب، وأنا سعيد بحصولنا على النقاط الثلاث ضد جيرونا. كان ذلك مهمًا للغاية ويمكنك أن تلمس ذلك في أجواء التدريب، من الجيد أن نرى ذلك وهذا ما نحتاجه”.
وأردف: ”لدينا فريق شاب وهم بحاجة إلى هذا الفوز. عندما حللنا مباراة جيرونا، تحدثنا عن التمركز والحفاظ على مسافة مناسبة من الخصم، وإذا كنت بعيدًا عن ذلك فعليك أن تركض أكثر وهذا ما علينا تحسينه، علينا أن نجد تمركزًا أفضل ومن ثم نضغط”.

وعن مواجهة أولمبياكوس تابع فليك: “لديهم هجوم جيد وتشير الإحصائيات إلى أنهم من أفضل الفرق هجوميًا. يكفي أن ننظر إلى مباراتهم ضد آرسنال، حيث سنحت لهم العديد من الفرص. علينا أن نكون منتبهين لهذه المواقف ولديهم لاعبون جيدون وخطة لعب، لذا علينا أن نكون حذرين معهم”.
وعن احتمالية وجود قانون جديد في التسلل رد فليك: “لا أعرف. أحترم أرسين فينجر لكننا لم نتحدث مؤخرًا. لا أعرف ما يريده أو ما الذي يهدف إليه هذا القانون الجديد. عندما يشرحون لي الأمر سأكون قادرًا على فهمه لكنني لا أريد التعليق عليه حاليًا لأننا نأمل أن يكون ذلك بعيدًا، ربما بعد عامين وهو أمر مهم بالنسبة لي”.
واستكمل: “لستُ أكثر توترًا، ربما لم تعد مشاعري كما كانت من قبل. أتذكر عندما كنت مدربًا لبايرن ميونخ كانت هناك صور لنا ونحن كنا قد فزنا 8-2 على برشلونة ولم أبتسم أبدًا بعد تسجيل ثمانية أهداف، الآن لدي مشاعر أكثر ولقد غيرني هذا النادي تمامًا”.
وقال فليك: ”ما يمكنني قوله هو أنني أحب هذا النادي، أحب برشلونة وأحب الناس هنا، إنه لأمر رائع، وأبذل قصارى جهدي من أجل هذا النادي. أعيش من أجل النادي، بصراحة لا أحب هذه الأشياء عندما أرى نفسي على التلفاز ولا أحب أن يراني حفيدي هكذا، لذا ربما علي تغيير سلوكي”.
وعن مارك بيرنال أضاف فليك: “كما قلت علينا أن نعتني به. لسنا مقتنعين بأنه جاهز تمامًا للعب هذه المباريات فهي دائمًا ما تكون صعبة للغاية، وبالنظر إلى مباريات إشبيلية وغيرها ليس هذا هو الوقت الأمثل له للعب مجددًا”.
وأوضح فليك عن بيرنال: ”سنجد مباريات مناسبة له للعودة، وعليه أيضًا أن يتحسن في التدريبات. إنه ليس في أفضل حالاته للعب المباريات الكبرى لذا علينا مساعدته على التحسن”.
وعن روني بردجي، جناح برشلونة الشاب أردف فليك: “يمكننا أيضًا التفكير في لعبه كمهاجم أو لاعب وسط هجومي، سواء كان على مقاعد البدلاء أو في التشكيلة الأساسية. نفكر في التشكيلة الأساسية وكذلك في اللاعبين الذين يكملون المباراة ونناقش الخيارات الأفضل. في الوقت الحالي القرار ليس سهلًا بشأنه”.
وعن ماركوس راشفورد رد فليك: ”راشفورد خيار جيد كمهاجم صريح لكنه يستطيع أيضًا اللعب كصانع ألعاب. هذا ما كنا نعتقده عندما تعاقدنا معه، يمكنه اللعب كمهاجم أو صانع ألعاب أو جناح ومن الرائع وجوده في فريقنا. لقد تحسن كثيرًا في الأسابيع الأخيرة ويمنحنا الكثير من الإيجابيات، وبالطبع يمكنه اللعب كمهاجم”.
وعن طرده ضد جيرونا رد المدرب الألماني: “بالنسبة لي هناك مهمة بعد هذه المباراة، لأن الآن هو وقت دوري أبطال أوروبا. يمكننا التحدث عن ذلك يوم السبت أو بعد مباراة أولمبياكوس. قلت ذلك بعد مباراة جيرونا، لم يكن هناك أي شيء ضد الحكم وقد قرر أن يرى الأمر بشكل مختلف وهذا أمر علي تقبله”.
وعن ما إذا كان ريال مدريد يتلقى دعمًا تحكيميًا اختتم فليك: “ماذا أقول؟ (يضحك) أنا هنا منذ 16 شهرًا وأنت هنا لفترة أطول بكثير وتعرف أكثر، لا أريد أن أقول أي شيء عن ذلك”.

Put in on a slightly tricky surface, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) displayed impressive intent as seven of their batters got into double figures, and they ended up with 196 for 7 against Chennai Super Kings (CSK), whom they are aiming to beat for the first time in Chennai since 2008. Captain Rajat Patidar was the standout batter for RCB, enjoying a life on 17, then surviving three half-chances, and eventually hitting three sixes in his 51 off 32 balls.Left-arm wristspinner Noor Ahmad raced away to the Purple Cap with three wickets to go after his four in the first match. Khaleel Ahmed was CSK’s most economical bowler, drawing seam movement early in the powerplay, then slowing the batters down with one over in the middle, and closing out with a wicket in the 18th over.Matheesha Pathirana, replacing Nathan Ellis who had a good outing in the last game, pushed RCB back with an excellent 19th over, taking out Patidar and then conceding just one run, that too a wide.However, Tim David took toll of Sam Curran, bowling only his third over in two matches, in the 20th over, hitting him for three sixes. Had the pitch turned as much as it did in the first game in Chennai, CSK might not even have needed Curran to bowl that last over. R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja managed only five overs between them for 59 runs as RCB seemed intent on not letting them get into the game. Ashwin, though, had his own back with the wicket of Devdutt Padikkal, who surprised CSK a little with his early assault at No. 3.Noor still managed to draw something out of the pitch, taking the wickets of Phil Salt, Virat Kohli and Liam Livingstone. He and MS Dhoni added to the highlight reel with another brilliant stumping as Noor beat another right-hand batter on the outside edge, and Dhoni cashed in on a brief moment of the dragging of the back foot.
